I am the Rural Information Technology Alliance Grant Manager at North Central Texas College. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Texas Woman’s University; and a MEd Degree in Secondary Education from the University of North Texas. For the past 9 years I worked for the Pilot Point Independent School District at Pilot Point High School: starting as a classroom aid working with special needs students, followed by five wonderful years teaching high school math and then three and a half as the academic and college & career counselor. I loved every minute of it!
RITA represents a tremendous opportunity for our students, our College, and our communities. Working together as a team we are creating programs that match individual student’s interests with their passion for learning to produce graduates with high tech skills that lead to long-term employment in high wage jobs in our area. Our success will result in institutionalized programs and services that are relevant, adaptive, and rigorous based on the changing market and the needs of the businesses in the communities we serve.
With the dedication of the entire existing CITE Department and strong leadership within the college and the RITA consortium I truly believe the skies the limit. We have put together a great team: faculty, education and employment coaches, our instructional designer, testing coordinator and technical assistant with a shared vision of academic excellence focused on student success.
When I am not working with NCTC-RITA I love spending time with my family and friends!
