I am the Rural Information Technology Alliance (RITA) Grant Manager for Ridgewater College. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics & Sociology from Cornell College as well as a Master of Arts and obtained ABD status in Political Science from Washington University in Saint Louis. Prior to joining RITA I was the Assistant Director for Evaluation in Cornerstone: The Center for Advanced Learning at Washington University in Saint Louis. Cornerstone is a unit designed to improve student performance which includes Disability Resources, TRiO Student Support Services, and student mentoring including individual and group study options, as well as research in the relevant areas. Due to Washington University’s strong emphasis on STEM Majors, a great deal of my work was done regarding STEM Migration and persistence amongst students with disabilities, underrepresented minorities, and women.
My goal for RITA is for Ridgewater College’s Computer Systems Technology and Multimedia Design Technology programs to become important cornerstones in an emergent tech sector in West Central Minnesota. I’m proud to say we’ve already created two new degree programs; Cyber Security and Mobile Application Development. I expect every student in our program to be known by name and story by our staff.
When I am not working with RITA, I am an avid reader, love cycling, enjoying high quality television with the new golden age of TV, and have two daughters who get most of my free time.
When I am not working with NCTC-RITA I love spending time with my family and friends!
