I am the Grant Manager for the Rural Information Technology Alliance at Central Lakes College. I have a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, and a Master of Science in Social Responsibility, from St. Cloud State University.
Prior to joining RITA, I worked at Minnesota Campus Compact for a decade, serving as Associate Director from 2009 to 2014. I have experience in the private, government, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors. My work is rooted in a passionate commitment to finding and effectively mobilizing hidden or under-appreciated capacities of individuals, organizations, and communities; and I have facilitated trainings in Asset-Based Community Development for groups throughout the country.
I have published numerous articles and book chapters on a variety of topics from popular culture to entrepreneurship. In 2014, I co-authored and edited the book, Asset-Based Community Engagement in Higher Education. Most recently, I contributed a chapter titled: "Community Engagement and Technology for a More Relevant Higher Education," to the book, eService-Learning: Creating Experiential Learning and Civic Engagement Through Online and Hybrid Courses.
My goals for RITA are to help position Central Lakes College as a strategic IT workforce development partner with the region's employers, and make it a preferred destination for anyone looking to add IT credentials in this part of the state.
When I'm not working with RITA, I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, and exploring new music.
